Joint three laboratory experiment Final Presentation （３分野合同実験発表会）

Final presentation of Joint three laboratory experiment was held in Applied Entomolgy class which participated by fifty five students of second year (Bachelor 2, B2). Actually, Joint laboratories experiment has been conducted approximately one month by third year students (Bachelor 3, B3) from three laboratories: Animal Ecology, Plant pathology and Edaphology Field physics. It was divided into four groups based on methods of insect observations, i.e. visual, yellow stick trap, sweeping, and pitfall trap. Each group had own unique modified methods. For instance, yellow stick trap modified structure of traps, made it three layers vertically and other groups as well with their own originality.

Presentations were held in ten minutes including question session. Every group was attractively presenting the results. In the end all audience gave a vote for best group presentation. The result was pitfall trap group, visual group, sweeping group and yellow sticky trap. All B3 students did their own best.

Based on the questionnaire from audiences collected after the presentation, most of students, actually, have a good and interesting comments or questions even when asked in the lecture they are reluctant to ask questions.

順位は振るわない結果でしたが、手法が決められていた中でも工夫を凝らして面白い実験が出来ていたと思います。

少し複雑な実験内容だけど面白いんです！ということを伝えるために努力を重ねる姿に刺激され、つい私の指導にも熱が入ってしまいました。

イエロートラップ班の皆にとっては他分野の実習だったので学んだ実験方法が活きてくるかはわかりませんが、発表資料作りのコツなど得られたもの多いと思います。

私にとっても指導の難しさを改めて実感できた実習でした。"お互いに"この実習で得られたものを今後に活かして行きましょう。

私たちの班は植物の高さに着目し、網を振るという誰もが簡単にできる方法で生物相を調査しました。少し時間をオーバーしてしまいましたが、本調査の面白さを伝えることができたと思います。
