This is a bottle tailed cuttlefish, mimi ika in Japanese, in my aquarium. It is inactive for all the daytime, it seems just sleeping. Interestingly, their eyelids works well, and the color is silver to shut the light up during their sleep. In general, longevity of such cattle fishes are a year, but the largest ones, up to several meters, like giant squid is thought to be living for 3-5 years. It means their speed of growth is very high, and such rapid growth may indicates their very high voracity. In my small aquarium the small squid eat less, only 1tiny shrimp a week.
