実は先日、私たちの研究室にも所属していたジャファールさんが、友達の結婚式に連れていってくれました。

In last week Sunday, I went to weeding party of Mr. Jafar’friend with him and his friends.

インドネシアで初めての結婚式。そこには日本と様々な違いがありました。

That was for the first time to go to wedding party in Indonesia, there were various differences with Japan.

例えば日本だと、招待状を受け取った人しか行けませんし、洋服にも決まりがありますよね。

しかしここインドネシアでは、特にそういうことはないらしく、綺麗な服を着た人から、普段着着用の人まで様々でした。

For example, it is common to go to wedding when we receive invitation letter, and there are regulations what put on us in Japan. But it seems not to be like Japan. I can go to the wedding party, even I didn’t know who would be get married, and the fashion of guest is various, from good clothes to just casual clothes.

また、席やプログラムが決まっている日本とは違い、新郎新婦やその親族と一人一人挨拶していくスタイル。

食事はブッフェ形式で、親族には専用の席と食事が用意されていました。

余興としてなのかBGMとしてなのかは分かりませんが、歌と楽器演奏がまるでラジオのごとく行われていました。

And there are no reserved seats and program but every guest can greet with family and bride and groom directly. The dishes were buffet style. I am not sure for what but there are singing and playing the instruments as a radio.

なんてゲストに優しい結婚式なんだろうと感動しました。

食べることと音楽、そして人が大好きなインドネシア人らしい結婚式だなと思いました。

I am impressed how kind to the guest and the style show that Indonesian loves eating and music and human being.
