Nice to meet you. I’m Bening from Indonesia, one of exchange students in this laboratory.

I like Japanese culture and I have studying Japanese language since high school. After entering university I still studying it and improve my speaking ability by talking with Japanese friends. To know the level of my ability (and to get the certificate of the test so I can apply scholarship or job in Japan), I take Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) last Sunday (12/4). And, because this test is not held in Yamagata Prefecture, I have to go to Sendai to take this test.

The test was held at Tohoku Bunka Gakuen University, 15 minutes by train from Sendai station. The test was difficult because the words are not used in daily activity but somehow I could manage it by using my feeling. The results will announce February next year so I just can keep praying, hoping to pass this test.

Things that make me surprised were that in Japan, the test is so strict. I have to put my mobile phone inside plastic bag then insert it into my bag. I have to remove eraser’s cover and just allowed to put pencil, eraser and watch only on the table. And each supervisor bring yellow and red card to warn the participants who doesn’t obey the rules. In Indonesia, you don’t have to do such things.

After the test, I take a walk around the city and met my friends and ate dinner together. Talking about old story and joking around, try to forget about the test. And then my friends stay with me until my bus is arrived. As expected of big city, there are so many people wandering around even though it’s already late at night and you don’t have to worry about the transportation because its operate until midnight.

The most important thing in this test

Sendai station with lot of people
Before diner, shopping first!
