あっという間に一年が過ぎ、2人の留学生Bening さんとNikenさんが母国に帰ります。

感謝を込めつつ、お別れ会を行いました。

場所は馴染みのセミナー室で、手巻きずしをみんなで作りました。

具材は豪華でエビ、イカ、サーモン、アボカド、シソの葉、キュウリ、納豆、かにかまなどなど。

お米を炊き、酢飯を作り、あとは海苔で巻くだけです。

詰め込みすぎる人、適度な量できれいに盛り付ける人、性格が出ます。

One year passed in quickly, two international students Bening and Niken will return to their home countries. With a gratitude, we had a farewell party. The place was a familiar seminar room, and we made hand windings with everyone. The ingredients are luxurious, such as shrimp, squid, salmon, avocado, leaf leaves, cucumber, natto, crab and so on. Cook rice, make vinegared rice, then just roll it with Nori. Person who packs too much, person who arranges cleanly with moderate amount, personality comes out.

欲張りすぎたり、後先考えないときれいな仕上がりではなくなってしまいます。

逆にキレイな寿司は見ていて美しいですが、食べるとなんだか物足りないような。

It is too greedy or it will not be a beautiful finish unless you think afterwards. On the other hand, beautiful sushi is beautiful looking, but it seems that it is somewhat unsatisfactory when you eat it.

途中、佐藤先生が寿司を握ってみようと切り出し、握りに挑戦することになりました。

私にとっては人生初？だったと思います。

On the way, Prof. Sato cut out trying to grasp the sushi and challenged to grasp it. For me the first life? I think that's how it was.

まずは手を濡らして。。。

コメは丸くなるように。。。

ネタはシャリを包み込むように。。。

Fish wrap around rice. . .

楽しく食べているうちに、寿司はあっという間になくなってしまいました。

ご飯は5合もあればいいよねと話していましたが、全然ご飯が足りず具材のみが残ってしまいました。

気づくと一人当たりそこそこの量のご飯を食べており、楽しく食事すると、おいしいものを食べると、案外気づかないもんだなと思いました。

While eating happily, sushi was gone quickly. I was talking that it would be good if 5 rice was enough, but rice was not enough at all and only ingredients remained. When I noticed it, I ate a reasonable amount of rice per person, and when I had a delicious meal, when I ate delicious things, I thought it was not surprising to notice.

終わりには佐藤先生、日本人学生が留学生の二人にメッセージを送りました。

日本人学生と留学生を比べられると、私たちは何をしているのだろうと思うこと多かったです。

明るさ、根性、タフさ、いろいろ気づきます。

忙しい一年間だったと思いますが、お疲れさまでした。そしてありがとうございました。

さらなる成長を求めて、頑張ってください。

Prof. Sato and Japanese students sent a message to the two international students at the end. When comparing Japanese students and international students, I was wondering what we were doing. Brightness, guts, toughness, I notice various things. I think that it was a busy year, but thanks for your effort. And thank you. Please seek further growth, please do your best.

Bening san, I am really helped you by your attitude and message from when we know each other.

Niken san, your brilliant smile and great effort give me motivation.

I don't want to believe you two will go back to your home country, but I really glad to make sushi together before that.

国外の方と1年もの期間を共にするというのは、ブニンさんとニケンさんが初めてでした。

長い期間の中で、楽しいことだけでなく苦しいことも一緒に経験するというのは、多くの人にはできない体験だと思います。

貴重な体験をありがとうございました。

手巻き寿司パーティーは思いの外本格的だったので、日本の文化をお二方に伝えられるいい機会のなったのではないでしょうか！

Bening san and Niken san are the first experience for me to spend for as long as 1 year with people from different countries.

It was an unusual opportunity to experience something hard as well as something fun with them.

Thank you very much for giving special experience.

Temaki-zushi party was prepared more than I expected, so it must have shown one of Japanese cultures to them.

It is the second time I come to this laboratory and I feel that I can learn many things this time. My journey in laboratory was not always smooth, there were many troubles I met but I am glad I can meet all of you. For laboratory members, please get well and good luck with your experiment and your private live hehe. For Sato sensei, thank you for this one year. Thank you for giving me many opportunity to go to conference, to go to Mt. Chokai, to go to Kahoku city, and to teach me how to make sushi. It really help me to find what I want to do in near future, so thank you very much.

I hope I can meet all of you again...

私がこの研究室に来るのは二回目。今回は多くのことを学ぶことができました。私のこの研究室での旅路は決して楽なものではなく、多くの困難にぶつかりましたが、研究室のみんなに出会えたことをとてもうれしく感じています。研究室のみんなへ、どうかお元気で、そしてみんなの実験とその人生に良いことがたくさんありますように。へへ。佐藤先生へ、一年間本当にありがとうございました。多くの機会を与えて下さったこと、例えば学会に挑戦したり、鳥海山や河北町へ行ったり、寿司の作り方を教えてくれたり、本当に心から感謝しています。その経験から、私が将来何がしたいのかを見つけることができました。ありがとうございました。またみなさんと会えることを願いつつ。（翻訳責：志村）

That is only thing I can say to all of you., Thank you very much Sensei, Shirai san, Shimura san, Hoshi san, Fukuda san, Andre san, and Taira san for very unforgettable memories in a year! And thank you for the sushi party! You know what? This is my first time to eat my handmade suhi ! I was really happy to have this opportunity :D

Also thank you for bring me to some amazing places with a great and fun unexpected things haha. In this laboratory, I did many challenges that I did not even expect I could do that. All of you helps me improved a lot. I really wish all of you the best in the future! And don't forget to smile even in a hard time :)
