Last year, there was a disaster in our country, Indonesia. Precisely on September 28th, a shallow large earthquake struck in Palu, Sulawesi and more than 70.000 houses are reported to be damaged, forcing tens of thousands of people to live in shelters and tents. It really made us sad to hear that and we give very deep condolence for them. That incident really touching especially for Indonesian student community in Sendai, Japan. They held an event on November 24th 2018 called FESTINA (Festival Indonesia) for charity to earthquake’s victims in Palu. We as Indonesian student also want to take a part in that event, but we have to perform something on that day. What will we do then?
昨年、私たちの国であるインドネシアでは災害が起きました。正確に言うと9月28日、浅くて大きな地震がパルとスラウェシを襲いました。それによって70,000の家々が破壊され、何万もの人々がシェルターやテントに住むことを強いられました。このことは、私たちの心に深い悲しみをもたらしました。被害にあわれた方々に心から哀悼の意を表します。そしてこの震災は日本の仙台にいたインドネシアの学生団体にとって、特に思い入れが深いものとなりました。そのため、彼らは2018年の11月24日にFESTINA（インドネシアのお祭り）と呼ばれるパルにいる震災の犠牲者に対するチャリティーイベントを開催しました。私たちも、もちろんそのイベントに参加したいと思いましたが、そのためには何かを披露しなければいけませんでした。さあ、私たちは何をしましょうか。
After having the quick discussion in line group, finally, we decide to perform Ratoeh Jaroe Dance in FESTINA. It is one of Indonesian traditional dance from Aceh. There were 10 girls who will dance including both of us. Almost every night we practice because we never dance like that before, so it was literally from zero. At first, we hesitated whether we can give the performance or not because it was only 1 month before the day. Is it possible? Perhaps, if in the past we are not optimistic, we will never get the experience.
グループLINEでの話し合いの結果、FESTINAにおいて「Ratoeh Jaroe」ダンスを披露することに決めました。これはアチェ地域の伝統的な舞踊の一つです。私たち二人を含めた10人の女性でダンスをすることにしました。以前はこのようにダンスを披露する機会がなかったので、ほとんど毎晩練習しました。文字通りゼロからのスタートです。最初は、そのイベントまで一カ月しか期間がなかったので、本当にそれを披露することができるのか不安でした。これが可能だと思いますか？おそらく、もし経験がるのなら楽観的にもなれますが、私たちにはその経験がなかったのです。
On November 23rd 2018, we and some Indonesian students went to Sendai city by bus. We stayed for two nights in the Indonesian student’s apartment. They were so kind and welcome us very well. Next day was the day for us to have the performance. In the early morning, we already get up to prepare all the things we need in the performance. It was the most busiest morning ever when we were in Sendai haha. After all well prepared, quickly we went to Smile Glico Park by train. It was also our very first-time ride train since we live in Japan. We were so excited on that day. After we arrived, we were so amazed at the atmosphere. The park was beautiful, clean, attractive, and of course, lots of Indonesian students participate and organize the event.
2018年11月23日、私たちとほかのインドネシアの学生はバスで仙台へ向かいました。私たちは仙台に住んでいるインドネシア人の学生のアパートに2日間泊まりました。彼らはとてもやさしく、私たちを歓迎してくれました。次の日が発表の日でした。朝早く起きて、披露に必要な物をすべて準備しました。仙台での朝が私たちにとって最も忙しい朝でしたハハ。準備がすべて整った後、電車でスマイルグリコ公園へ向かいました。その時が日本に滞在してから初めて電車に乗ったときになりました。その日はとても興奮したのを覚えています。到着したあと、その雰囲気にすごく驚かされました。その公園はとても美しく、きれいであり、魅力的で、参加者や開催者のインドネシア人であふれていました。
Our performance decided as an opening ceremony for the event. We were really nervous before the performance because there were so many people want to watch. “Keep calm and do the best” became our motivational sentence to kill the nervous feeling, and finally we can perform well. After the performance, we went around the park, met other Indonesian students and taste Indonesian foods called bakso. So delicious....
私たちの演技は、そのイベントの開会式で行われることが決まっていました。始まる前は多くの人々が見に来ていたのでものすごく緊張しました。「落ち着いて最善を尽くす」という私たちの掛け声によって、緊張感を吹き飛ばしました。最終的に、私たちは演技を披露することができました。終わった後、公園内を散策し、他のインドネシア人の学生とあったり、バクソと呼ばれるインドネシア料理（肉団子のようなもの）を堪能しました。本当においしかった...
Time goes by so fast, but in the evening we have to go back to Yamagata. We still want to enjoy the event, but it was already afternoon meaning that we have to go back to the station to continue the other schedule. Then, we decided to leave the park sooner. When we arrived in the station, Indonesian student in Sendai invited us to taste delicious halal Gyuutan and accompanied us for sightseeing around the station. That day, we really blessed and enjoyed the moment. We do hope, we can come to Sendai again sometime.
時間が過ぎるのはとても早く、夜には山形に帰らなくてはいけません。私たちはまだそのイベントを楽しみたいと思っていましたが、すでに午後になっていました。それは、駅に戻り、他の予定を行わなければならないことを意味しています。そこで、私たちはすぐに公園を出発することにしました。駅に着いた時、仙台に住んでいるインドネシア人の学生が、美味しいハラル牛タン（イスラム教徒が食べることを許されている食品のこと）のお店に招待してくれたり、駅の周りの観光地を案内してくれました。その日は、本当に恵まれた楽しい一日でした。いつかもう一度仙台に来ることができるように、心の底から願っています。
