Good Opportunity

Three weeks ago on 10th March 2019, I got the opportunity to join Symposium in Faculty of Science, Yamagata University. The event was the International Symposium on “Rapid Evolutionary Change of Invertebrates, Plants, and Their interactions under Ecological Disturbance”. I go there with Azka san one day before by bus. We went from Tsuruoka in the afternoon and arrived in the evening to join a dinner party (welcome party) with some professors from the Faculty of Science and Invited Speaker from Indonesia. We met at the guest hotel and go to the restaurant by taxi. In the restaurant, we ate Japanese food. It was really delicious. We ate a lot of food here while talking about the condition of Indonesia and Japan. This is some of food:

After that we back to the Hotel to take a rest.

The day after, we went to the Faculty of Science together by bus. After arriving at Yamagata University, we eat lunch box which has been prepared. The lunch box is so special because they order from Tokyo and its halal food. Also, the packaging is so special because it can be warm when we want to eat. I and all guest from Indonesia feel amazing with this innovation because we never see it.

After ate lunch, the poster session was started. The title of my poster was “Bottom-up Effect of Mud Snail on Water Aphid through Enhancing Performance of Floating-plant”. I stand beside the poster and many people come and ask me a lot of questions. I try to answer all questions clearly. The poster session was 1 hour. It was a really good experience and the atmosphere was so nice. So, after finished we join oral presentation from 5 speakers (Japan and Indonesia). All of the topics were so interesting. I get a lot of new knowledge.

At 5.30 pm, we have a closing ceremony. Surprisingly, I achieved the best poster in this symposium. So, I got the certificate. Azka san also got the award. We were so glad to get it. Then, we have a dinner party in one restaurant. In this restaurant, we ate so many foods that were so same tested with Indonesian food. All of the food is so delicious. I don’t know how the chef can cook like that. It was so nice. Someday in the future, I decided to go there again hehe. Also at this party, one of the biology students bring kimono and ask us to use it. I am so happy to wear it.

At 11 o`clock we close the party and take a picture. I feel so happy to attend this good opportunity and get new knowledge also new kind people. I think all the people I met so nice, kind, and wonderful. Last but not least, thank you Sato sensei for your guidance and this good opportunity. Thank you very much for Professor Yokoyama and other sensei in Biology for your kindness and warm welcome. Thank you very much for Biology students for your nice conversation although we just met each other. Also, thank you very much for the invited speaker from Indonesia for your knowledge and message to us.
