Weeding by manually

おはようございます。

今日は朝が早いです。

週に1度の除草タイムです。

Good morning.

It's early morning today.

We have weeding time once a week.

決して楽しいものではないです。

まずは腰にダメージが来る手除草です。

イネとイネの間を丁寧に除草していきます。

そのあとは道具を使っての除草です。

こちらは比較的楽かもしれません。

今日はクログワイ、コナギ、時にはオモダカといった強雑草たちが主役でした。

これらはイネの収量に大きな悪影響を及ぼす、農家のライバルです。

終わってみると、こんなにもいたんですね。

驚きです。

It' not easy work.

At first, weeding by hand while bending down, our waist was damaged.

We carefully weed between rice.

Then, weeding by items.

It's easier than hand weeding.

There were strong weed mainly water chestnut, Heteranthera limosa, sometime threeleaf arrowhead.

These kind of weed affect badly the amounts of rice harvest. It's like rival of farmer.

After finish, I'm surprised the weed abundance floating.

また、水田にはアメンボがたくさんいました。

実は研究室では無農薬と農薬有でそれぞれ2つずつ田んぼを借りています。

農薬有ではアメンボは少なかったです。

やっぱり自然の状態がアメンボも好きなのかもしれません。

And there are many pond skater.

We lent 4 fields, two of those don't have herbicide, others have a herbicide.

In herbicide field, they live a few.

The pond skater prefer natural condition, maybe.

ところでアメンボにどんなイメージを持っていますか？

温厚そうなイメージってありません？

でも、アメンボは水面に浮く生物死骸などを群れになって食べるのです。

今回は写真がありませんが、見ると少しイメージが変わるかもしれません。

彼らも生存に適したいわゆるニッチ（簡単に言うと、人気のないところ）を見つけ、うまく生きているのです。

水面に浮いてくるものを効率よく餌にする。物質循環には欠かせない生き物ですね。

Anyway, what kind of images do you have for pond skater?

Like gentle?

But they eat some dead creatures floating in a swarm.

I'm sorry don't have picture. If you see that view, your image for them change.

They look for Niche (in short, not popular place) to survive. It works well maybe.

They eat at surface of water... this one also important role of material circulation.
