Farewell and Welcome at the same time

とうとう1年前にやってきた留学生ともお別れです。

Dianさん、Azkaさんお世話になりました。

ふたりからは多くのことを学び、刺激をもらいました。

いつでも積極的で、感謝を忘れず、大きな夢をもち過ごしていました。

特に適応力が高く、日本に来てすぐにTAとしてプレゼンテーションをこなしていました。

明るく、ユーモアがあり、私にないものばかりでした（笑）

時に迷惑をかけてしまうこともありましたが、ありがとう。

インドネシアに戻っても、変わらず元気に頑張ってください。

Finally, We will say goodbye to the foreign students who came a year ago.

We were indebted to Dian and Azka.

We learned a lot from the two and got inspiration.

They were always active, remembering gratitude, having big dreams.

Especially, highly adaptive, such as TA making a presentation when they came to Japan soon.

I knew they were bright, humorous and something I don't have.

Sometimes I make them bother, but thank you.

Please do your best well even if you return to Indonesia.

そして、新しく5人の留学生が1か月ほどインターンでやってきました。

Sandiさん、Tiaraさん、Adit　さん、Fitri さん、Kamilaさんです。

このうちFitriさんとKamilaさんは塩野先生の研究室で過ごしています。

他の三名は動物生態学研究室の一員です。

And five new students came as internship for about a month.

Sandi, Tiara, Adit, Fitri, and Kamila.

Of these, Mr. Fitri and Mr. Kamila are in the laboratory of Dr. Shiono.

The other three are members of the Animal Ecology Laboratory.

そこで行われたのがお別れ会兼歓迎会です。

場所はサガエ君のバイト先である焼き鳥屋「鳥はま」です。

私も初めて入りましたが、古き良き日本の雰囲気を持った、落ち着きあるお店でした。

残念なことに志村さん、松本君、寒河江君は都合が悪く参加できませんでした。

一般的に日本ではこうした会でお酒をたしなみます・・・が私たちは違いました。

先生から歓迎のお言葉を頂き、ノンアルコールビールとウーロン茶、オレンジジュースで乾杯です。弁慶飯と呼ばれる野菜の葉でおにぎりを撒いた料理や、焼き鳥、唐揚げ、ポテトフライなど多彩で美味な料理でした。

言語は英語です。なぜなら日本人の方が少ないから。すごいことですよね。

これから入室する学生は心しておいてください（笑）

「～～～～～～～？」「～～～～～～～～～.」はじめは全く分かりませんが、

日々の努力次第で英語が聞き取れ、自分から話したいと思えるようになるからです。

新留学生はそれぞれインターン中にしたいこと、将来の夢などを話しました。

途中から司会を佐藤先生にしていただくことになり、円滑に会を進めることができました。佐藤先生、ありがとうございました。

The farewell party and the welcome party were held.

The place is Yakitori restaurant "Tori hama" where Sagae work as part-time job is.

Although I entered for the first time, it was a calm shop with a good old Japanese atmosphere.

Unfortunately, Shimura, Matsumoto and Sagae were not able to participate for the sake of inconvenience.

Generally in Japan we drink alcohol at such a party ... but we were different.

We received a welcome word from Professor Sato, and cheered with non-alcohol beer and oolong tea and orange juice. It was a variety of delicious dishes such as rice wrap with vegetables leaves called Benkei rice, grilled chicken, fried chicken and potato fries.

The language is English. Because there are less Japanese people. That's amazing.

Please keep in mind that students entering the room from now on.

「～～～～～～～？」「～～～～～～～～～.」I do not know what they talk in the beginning at all.

Depending on your daily effort, you will hear English and you will want to speak.

Each new student talked about what he wanted to do during his intern and his dream for the future.

Prof. Sato did chair person, we were able to proceed with the meeting smoothly. Thank you very much, Prof. Sato.

国が違えば考え方も大きく異なります。それだけでなく、同じ国でも経験の違いでそれはまた異なります。いろいろな人の心の中を覗くのは特別で貴重です。改めてそう感じました。

最後に8月に帰国する二人の留学生からお別れの言葉をもらいました。

感極まって涙を流していました。それほど、この１年が充実していたのでしょう。

心のこもった言葉で自分も今までの思い出を頭に浮かべながら聞いていました。

これもやはり感謝の気持ちからくるものだと私は思っています。留学というチャンスをもらえたこと、貴重な経験を先生から頂いたこと、わからないことを教えてくれた日本人学生。時々私はどうしてこうも違うのだろうと感じます。私自身も彼女たちのように日々感謝して生きようと思いました。

Different countries have different ways of thinking. Not only that, but also in the same country it is different with the difference in experience. It is special and valuable to look in the hearts of many people. I felt that way again.

Finally, we received a farewell message from two international students who will return home in August.

They were very impressed and tears. That's probably so priceless for the past year.

I also listened with heartfelt words, with my memories in mind.

I think this also comes from the feeling of gratitude. They thanks to give them chance to study abroad, get valuable experience from Prof. Sato, and some help of Japanese students. Sometimes I feel how different this is. I myself thought to live by gratitude everyday as they did.
