I got the opportunity again to do TA activity in last week, but at that time it was a little bit different than usual.
This TA activity held in student experiment lecture which is taught by Sato sensei. The number of students was less than the student in other TA activity which I usually join. At that time, Shirai san and I got the opportunity to give brief presentation explaining about anatomy of grasshopper. Therefore, we divided the explanation: Shirai san explained about body part and I explained about the head of grasshopper. Another difference, we did not make the slide to do the presentation, only oral presentation with some picture of grasshopper.
At the beginning of the lecture, all student had to imagine and draw a grasshopper without seeing the object. Each person has their own imagination or maybe own experience so the picture was really characteristic. Sato sensei asked us then we chose two people to draw head and body part of grasshopper respectively on the white board in the front. After some comments, then they start to draw the real picture based on the real grasshopper which prepared beforehand. Their drawing dramatically changes
After drawing time was over, we chose two people again to draw in the front, and their drawing quite different between before and after. At that time, Shirai san and I got time to do presentation and explain about anatomy of grasshopper. We explained as well as we can. Eventough, I could not make sure they 100% understand with what I try to explain, but I was relieved that the student was active and want to ask a question.
After the lecture was over, I thought it was the end of my TA activity, but surprisingly, there was a boy student that still want to ask a question. I met him again and try to answer as well as I can by using google translate, and I realizes that this time possibly the end of my TA activity.
I’m so glad and grateful can get such kind of opportunity, improve my public speaking, get new knowledge, lead me to be more brave and confident. I really thank to Sato sensei who always gave us such kind of good opportunity to make us learn more and more. Thank you very much!
