The Puppet Show with The Kids !

Many people nowdays is rare to find any traditional entertain such as like The Puppet Show. The puppet show is about perfomancing talent using dolls or something with the stick on their body and arms also sometimes in their head too where as beneath of them is someone who make a move the puppet so they’re hiding in the bottom called puppeteer. The voice of the puppeteers sometimes can perform by a recorded soundtrack not only by human voices.

There is many kind of the muppet show we can find like In my mothercountry, Indonesia, we called it Wayang. similar like the puppet show in Japan (Japanese Bunraku), but wayang is more traditional art from Java. Wayang is a puppet from Java that have their own character and different shape depends on their personality of the story. Like the activity that our laboratory have been done at last Sunday, 04 August in Takasaka.

We made some activity by using the insect wayang as a main character. Together we made the wayang from the former boxes and coloring them. Our member laboratory doing those things is got an inspired from Mr. Sudjono Kerton the artist from Magelang, Indonesia. Beside that, the story that we raised was about ecology in paddy field while the character we made were mud snail, lady bug, apids, grasshopper, algae, paddy, and the sun.

The audience was only 3 kids, but they very excited about the insect. Some of kids in Japanesse were interest of the insect and they also join the activity related for educating and fun learning things about that. On the other hand, before we go to the room for showing the muppet show, we go first to the field for searching an insect in there. Although the weather is hot and the sunshine become so bright, it’s wasn’t a big problem for them to playing around the paddy field for searching an insect both aquatic and terrestrial. They are very happy when they found any insect and put it into the case or plastic they have bring. No one feels scary or bored during this activity they really enjoyed and always energic by running to the 1 plot to the another plots of paddy field and it tooks around 1 hours we stay in the field collecting and accompany them searching the insect. After that, we go to the room again for the next activity and the second of muppet show !

In the second one, before we started the show, Sato sensei told the kids about the song of the story in muppet show to them using 3 language it’s Indonesian English and Japanesse, and the lyrics was :

The lyrics was so fun and they enjoy while the song is singing by the pupetters before they gonna started the story. And it was so fun to having the good opportunity like that because we’re rare to find any Japanesse kids while we’re stay in Japan (since a week ago).
