8月1日から7日までサクラサイエンスプログラムが行われま
した。
インドネシアのPadjadjaran大学、Muhamediah大学から教授の方々と学生の皆さんが参加しました。私は以前山形大学のwinter schoolでお世話になったことがあり、何人かの学生と再会することができました。
歓迎会から始まり、講義やワークショップ、研究室ツアー、鶴岡市の観光など盛りだくさんでした。
私が個人的に印象に残っているのはワークショップの様子です。インドネシアの学生はグループワークに慣れているのか、すぐに与えられた課題に対し議論し始めました。楽しそうであり、かつ熱を帯びている。違うなと感じました。私を含む日本人学生も参加していたのですが、比べるとなんだか情けないです。いい意味で学びがありました。また、インドネシア学生と混じってグループワークをする場面もあり、実際に彼らの意見を聞けたのは貴重でした。また、当日には本研究室の先輩であるAndreさんが日本での生活についてプレゼンテーションをしてくださいました。改めて日本に来たきっかけや就職先での経験を聞くと、Andreさんのうちに潜む力を感じました。実は先日ご結婚され、奥様も参加してくださいました。なんとインドネシア語がペラペラです。ご卒業したのはつい2年前のことですが、なんだか遠い昔のようです。Andreさんおめでとうございます。
運営する立場というのは、とても大変です。私自身は与えられた役目をこなすことで精一杯でしたが、それではいけなかったのかもしれません。ただ、学びは確かにありました。未知のことに挑戦するのは怖いことですが、やってみると案外時間はすぐに経過する物です。
改めてこの機会に感謝です。そして、参加してくださった皆様にも感謝です。
The Sakura Science Program was held from August 1st to 7th. Professors and students from Padjadjaran University and Muhamediah University in Indonesia participated. I had been taken care of at Yamagata University's winter school, and I was able to reunite with some students. Starting from the welcome party, there were many lectures, workshops, laboratory tours, and sightseeing in Tsuruoka City.
My personal impression is the workshop. Whether Indonesian students are accustomed to group work, they immediately started discussing the tasks they were given. It seems to be fun and enthusiastic. I felt it was different. Japanese students, including me, were also participating, but it's kind of compassionate. I learned in a good way. Also, there were scenes where group work was mixed with Indonesian students, and it was valuable to actually hear their opinions. On the day, Mr. Andre, a senior of our laboratory, gave a presentation on life in Japan. When I heard about the opportunity to come back to Japan and my experience at work, I felt the power behind Andre. Actually, I was married the other day and my wife also participated. Indonesian is fluent. I graduated about two years ago, but it seems to be a long time ago. Congratulations Andre.
The position to operate is very difficult. I myself couldn't do that, but I couldn't have done that. But there was certainly learning. It's scary to challenge the unknown, but if you try it, the unexpected time will soon pass. Thank you again for this opportunity. And thanks to everyone who participated.
