Black Soldier Fly

Do you know black soldier fly? Black soldier fly (BSF) or Hermetia illucens is insect from ordo diptera who is beneficial insect. We can find BSF in compost fertilizer from chicken manure in Yamagata University‘s field. We can find many BSF all of instar larvae. The different of BSF in Indonesia and Japan is about the size, the size in Japan more bigger than Indonesia. BSF can use to decompositon organic matter including fruits, vegetables, and dead animals because they have chewing mouthparts. The result of decomposer can use to be liquid fertilizer for agriculture. Beside that, BSF producing high-protein pupae that can be fed to poultry and fish. So do you want to know more about it??
