1st International symposium on INDONESIAN FAUNA

Good morning from Indonesia. I participate the international symposium.

This is talk about any kinds of creatures in Indonesia for conservation, taxnoon and ecology.

↑ opening ceremony...

I talked about "freshwater snail in organic paddy field in Indonesia". This research all was conducted in Indonesian village. In this year also, me and Sato sensei research in Kampung naga with local students. In organic, the abundance of snail higher than conventional.

In Japan, our laboratory research about snail function in paddy field. In Indonesia also especially organic field there is possibility to be useful for rice production.

After finish my oral presentation, Dr. Joshi who is researcher about invasive apple snail give me special lecture. He knows a lot of things, because over 30 years research. It is very good opportunity.​

Other participants talked about odonata, reptiles( especially komodo dragon ), birds, elephant...... Second day symposium is komodo day. I am surprised the research of komodo dragon popular in Indonesia.

↑ Dr. Tim Jessop taking about Komodo... I really enjoyed this symposium, I can meet many researcher. Some of them, I talk in lunch time not about research but casual talk. It's interesting.

↑Both people work in Lipi, especially left one will study in Okinawa, Japan...I hope he get scholarship really

↑Closing ceremony All food delicious ! And I can meet finally black coffee in Indonesia. I cannot find that in campus I stay. All coffee sweet. In the end, I want to say thank you for Dr. Sato for giving me opportunity. And Dr. Vira and Mr. Sandi help me going to Bogor and caring of me in Indonesia, thank you.
