Kampung Naga（カンプンナガ）はインドネシアのタシクマラヤ西側に位置する小さな村です。そこには電気がなく、主に液体ガスや木材を利用して生活しています。住民の多くは農業を営み、朝から外で働きます。村に入るには代表者から承諾を得るか、もしくはガイドとともに散策するか、厳格な決まりがあります。私は佐藤先生からこの村のお話を伺っており、美しい写真も見せてもらいました。果たして、そんな村があるのだろうか、、、

―カンプンナガに初潜入、そして調査―

Padjadjaran大学に滞在し３日目、ついに訪れる日がやってきました。大学から片道3時間ほどかけて向かいました。田んぼの視察が目的です。到着するとすぐにガイドの方にあいさつをしました。黒い服に伝統的な被り物（イチャ）を身に着けています。インドネシアでは目上の方に挨拶をする際、握手を必ずします。少し緊張しながら挨拶を終えると、444段もある階段を下りていきます。その途中には横に民家があり生活する様子が見えました。子どもも多く、外で仲良く遊んでいました。村の全貌が見えてくると、確かに美しい風景が広がっていました。印象的なのはもちろん水田、すでに収穫後ながらきれいでした。穂が垂れている時期は金色に輝いてさぞきれいなのでしょう。それから数日後、佐藤先生と合流し巻貝の調査を行いました。3日連続で大学と村を往復したのを今でも覚えています。運転手のAronyさんは高い運転技術を持ち、また、非常にタフです。いつも元気で、大きな笑い声が特徴です。インドネシアでは大変お世話になりました。

Kampung Naga is a small village located on the west side of Tasikmalaya in Indonesia. There is no electricity and the people live mainly using liquid gas and wood. Most of the people are farmers and work outside from morning. There are strict rules to get into the village, either with consent from a representative or a walk with a guide. I was listening to Mr. Sato about the village and had beautiful pictures. Is there really such a village?

-First infiltration and investigation into Kampung Naga- The third day of my stay at Padjadjaran University, the day to visit has finally arrived. It took about three hours each way from the university. The purpose is to inspect rice fields. As soon as we arrived, we greeted the guide. Wearing traditional clothing (Icha) in black clothes. In Indonesia, when greeting a superior, always shake hands. After a little nervous greeting, go down the 444 steps. On the way there was a private house next to me, and I saw how I live. There were many children and we played outside. When the whole picture of the village came into view, a beautiful landscape was certainly spreading. Impressive of course was the paddy fields, which were already beautiful after the harvest. When the ears are hanging, it will be golden and brilliant. A few days later, we joined Dr. Sato to investigate snails. I still remember going back and forth between the university and the village for three consecutive days. The driver, Arony, has high driving skills and is very tough. He is always energetic and features a loud laugh. In Indonesia, I was very helpful.

―カンプンナガ2泊3日の旅～調査と散策～―

　5回目の訪問で貴重な経験をしました。村に3日間滞在することができたのです。滞在中は圃場の調査に加えて、村を散策しました。調査では有機と慣行農法の圃場でそれぞれ土壌を採取し、後日分析を行いました。滞在中の調査結果は村に報告する義務があるため、いい加減にはできません。他にも巻貝の分布を調査し、今度は村の調査です。可能な限り情報を収集しました。時には住民や店の主人に声をかけました。村ではすれ違う住民に「プンタン（Excuse me）」と声をかけます。日本と同様に挨拶を大切にしているなと感じました。ただ、会話はスンダ二語で私には理解できませんでした。同行してくれたSandiさんのおかげで会話ができ調査が行えました。

村の入り口には飲食物を販売する屋台があります。そのときは、キャッサバを使ったケーキやチロック（こんにゃくの様な食べ物）がありました。主人に話を聞くと50kg近い食材を肩に抱え、階段を下りてくるそうです。途中にも書きましたが、階段は444段もあります。それを毎日繰り返しています。年齢は60歳近く、とても真似できません。これはカンプンナガに限った話ではないのですが、移動式の屋台を手押しで歩く男性をインドネシアで普通に見ることができます。当然のごとくこなしています。さすがに挑戦はできませんでした。

-2 days and 3 nights trip to Kampung Naga~Investigation and walking around~- I had a valuable experience on my fifth visit. I was able to stay in the village for three days. During my stay, I visited the village in addition to conducting field surveys. In the survey, soil was collected from organic and conventional farms, respectively, and analyzed at a later date. Survey results during your stay must be reported to the village and cannot be neglected. In addition, we surveyed the distribution of snails, and this time we surveyed the village. We have collected as much information as possible. Sometimes I spoke to residents and shop owners. In the village, people who pass each other are called "Puntan (Excuse me)". I felt that greeting was as important as in Japan. However, the conversation was not understood by me in Sundanese. Thanks to Sandi who accompanied me, we were able to have a conversation and conduct an investigation. There are food stalls at the entrance to the village. At that time, there were cakes and chillocks (food like konnyac) using cassava. When I talked to her husband, she said she was holding down nearly 50kg of food on her shoulder and descending the stairs. As I wrote in the middle, there are 444 stairs. I repeat it every day. I am almost 60 years old and I can not imitate it very much. This is not limited to Kampung Naga, but you can see men walking by hand on mobile stalls in Indonesia. I am doing it as a matter of course. As expected it could not be challenged.

―カンプンナガ2泊3日の旅～住まいに潜入～―

　泊めていただいたのは村のガイドと農家を務めるRismanさんのお家でした。３人の男の子と奥さんの5人暮らしです。滞在初日、ランプ一つを囲む生活に非常に感動しました。テレビもなく、静寂でかまどの火がぱちぱちと鳴る音しか聞こえませんでした。その日早速、圃場で採れたお米を頂きました。細かく切ったニンニクと同時に炊き上げ、すぐに熱々を頂きます。ほのかにニンニクの香ばしさが香り、ところどころおこげも混ざり絶品でした。「日本人はよく食べるのか？」と聞かれるほど、夢中になって食べてしまいました。食後は手工芸品を作成する様子を見させていただきました。バンブーの木を複雑に織り込み、カバンや器を器用に作り上げていきます。それは重要な資金源だそうです。もっと時間があれば、ぜひ教えていただきたかったですね。

奥さんは毎日かまどの前に座って朝・昼・夕と調理します。私が滞在する間、ほとんどまる一日そこにいました。日本ではテレビを見たり、お菓子を食べたりすると思いますが、ここでは静かに座ってかまどの様子をじっと見ていました。淡々とそれをこなす姿には人間としての強さを感じました。さらに驚いたのは、私たちが農作業の手伝いをさせてもらったときのことです。彼女は20分もかかる山道を歩き、朝ごはんを届けてくれました。一緒に同行してくれたSandiさんも「インドネシアの女性は強いでしょ？」と言っていました。はい、本当に強かったです。。。ご主人だってもちろん強いです。毎朝同様に山道を登り、炎天下の中働きます。体は細身ですが、お米を頭の上に載せて歩き階段を上っていました。終わってもピンピンしていました。ですが、私の印象に強く残ったのは彼女の強さでした。

―Kampung Naga 2 nights 3 days trip ~ Sneaks into your house ~ ― I stayed at Risman, a village guide and farmer. I am living with 3 boys and 5 wives. On the first day of my stay, I was very impressed by the life surrounding one lamp. There was no TV and I could only hear the silence of the stove fire. Immediately that day, we had rice from the field. Cook with the minced garlic and serve hot immediately. The scent of garlic was faintly scented, and some of the spices were mixed together. When I was asked, "Are Japanese people often eating?" After the meal, I saw how to make handicrafts. Bamboo trees are woven intricately to make bags and vessels dexterous. It is an important source of funding. I wanted to tell you if I had more time. The wife sits in front of the furnace every day and cooks in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I was there almost an entire day during my stay. In Japan, I would watch TV and eat sweets, but here I sat quietly and watched the furnace. I felt the strength as a human being in the figure that did it simply. Even more surprising was when we helped with farming. She walked down a mountain road that took 20 minutes and delivered breakfast. Sandi, who accompanied me, said, "Is Indonesian women strong?" Yes, it was really strong. . . Of course, my husband is strong. Ascend the mountain path every morning and work in the scorching sun. Although he was slim, he walked up the stairs with rice on his head. I was still pinching after finishing. But what really left my impression was her strength.

―カンプンナガへの潜入を終えて―

　美しい風景に魅了され、独自の文化に感動し、有意義な時間を過ごしました。住民の方々は素敵な笑顔を持っており、心が澄んでいるのだろうと感じました。この記事を読んでいる人で興味がある人は一度訪れてみてください。きっとそれぞれに感じるものがあると思います。

ところで、私は「ここに一生住んだらどうなるのか？」と考えながら滞在していました。結論は、1か月も生活できないと思いました。きっと退屈に感じてしまうからです。毎日村で生活し、閉鎖的な環境に身を置くことは今の自分には耐えられません。憂鬱になった時は、そういった環境が非常に恋しくなります。そのため、潜入以前の私は期待していました。「どうしよう、もし一生住みたくなったら・・」しかし、そうはなりませんでした。インドネシアに留学できている事実、これは非常に大きいです。可能性がある限り、もう少し挑戦を繰り返しながら、じっくり考えたいと思いました。カンプンナガが日本の農村だと考えると、そこに住み続けるという結論を出すには、相応の覚悟と攻めの選択が必要です。逃げではなく、攻めの意識です。「ここに住みたい！ここしかない！」留学中の私には選択肢にはなかなか入りませんでした。しかし、これから先、ここでの経験や思い出が思わぬ形で人生に影響してくるのではないかと期待しています。また、いつかこの地を訪れることを願って、今回は終わります。

By the way, I stayed thinking "What happens if I live here for a lifetime?" The conclusion was that I couldn't live even one month. I will feel bored. Living in a village every day and being in a closed environment is unbearable for me. When I feel depressed, I miss such an environment very much. Therefore, I had expected before infiltration. "What if I want to live a lifetime ..." But that didn't happen. The fact that I am studying in Indonesia is very big. As long as there was a possibility, I wanted to think more carefully while trying a little more. Given that Kampung naga is a rural village in Japan, it takes a certain amount of preparedness and aggressive choices to conclude that it will continue to live there. It is not an escape, but an aggressive consciousness. “I want to live here. However, I expect that my experiences and memories will affect my life in unexpected ways. This time, I hope to visit this place someday.
