The effect of COVID-19 on the agriculture

先日、日本政府は緊急事態宣言の延長を発表しました。この状況は飲食店だけでなく農業界にも深刻なダメージを与えています。小学校や中学校は休校になっているため、給食用の野菜を供給していた農家は育てた野菜を大量に廃棄せざるを得ません。花農家も同じく厳しい状況下にあります。多くのイベントが中止になっているため花の需要が減少しているからです。そんな中、あまり影響を受けていない農家も少なくありません。日本農業は労働不足問題を抱えているので現在それらの農家はコロナで働けなくなった人々に雇用を供給しています。私は農業が多くの人々を助けていくことを願っています。

The other day, Japan government announced extension of the emergency declaration. This situation causes heavy damage to not only restaurants but also farmers. Elementary school and junior high school are still closed. So, the farmer who provides vegetables of school lunch has to throw away many vegetables. And flower farmers are also in a tough situation. That is why the demand of flower has decreased because many events had canceled. But some famers are not affected by this situation. Now, those famers have given opportunities of working to people who cannot work in this situation because Japanese agriculture have labor shortage. I hope that agriculture will help many people.
