Difference in agriculture in Japan and Indonesia

Based on my experience when becoming an Indonesian farmer it was very fun. But when compared with agriculture in Japan specifically according to what I saw in Tsuruoka, it was very much fun in Japan. To cultivate land before planting rice in Indonesia we use animals such as cows and buffalo. Although some use machines like hand tractors (like the picture above), but here is more modern, all use sophisticated machines (like the picture below). Last week I refreshed my mind by cycling, on the road I saw farmers here using tractors to make rice paddies, cultivate land and also plant rice. Actually I want to try the tool, but I don't know how to ask permission from farmers here.
