Go to Yamadera

今週の日曜日私は山形市に行き、友人達とサイクリングを楽しみました。この頃雨ばかり降っていたのでその日サイクリングができるかどうか心配でしたが、雨が降らずサイクリングをすることができました。私達は山寺までサイクリングをしました。山寺は山形県の有名な観光スポットとして知られているお寺です。そこには国の重要文化財に指定されている建物や松尾芭蕉が“古池や　蛙飛び込む　水の音”という有名な俳句を詠んだ場所があります。

観光客は山寺の風景を楽しみ、春には桜を楽しむこともできます。しかし今年の春はコロナウイルスの影響で山寺に行くことができませんでした。来年の春にまた山寺に行けたらいいなと思っています。

This Sunday, I went to Yamagata city and enjoyed cycling with my friends. I was worried about whether or not we could go cycling because it has been raining a lot recently. But it did not rain that day. We went to the Yamadera by bicycle. Yamadera is a temple and famous tourist spot in Yamagata prefecture. There is a structure designated as important cultural property and the area where Matsuo Basho composed a poem like that “ The ancient pond A flog leaps in The sound of the water (translation into English by Donald Keene)”. This is very famous poem.

We can enjoy watching landscape in Yamadera and also enjoy watching cherry blossom there in spring. But we could not go to Yamadera in this spring because of corona virus situation. Hope we can go there in next spring.
