Tanabata Festival

I remember one festival in the last month on the 7th July which is Tanabata festival in the Tsuruoka Park especially in the main shrine. That I know Tanabata festival or Star festival is one of the famous summer festivals beside Matsuri festival. There is history about this festival based romantic story of the star-crossed lovers, Vega and Altair that can meet each other once a year. The unique of this festival is the bamboo decoration with colorful paper hang in. The paper is not just paper but has special wishes or hope written by the writers which is called tanzaku. People write the wishes and hope come true. You can write your wishes or something in the paper and then hang in the bamboo. I read some information that the color of paper had different meaning. In there also many people take omikuji as paper or lottery fortunes in the shrine. In there also so many people come to see the beautiful ajisai flower and pray in shrine. The color so beautiful with blue and pink color. Hopefully I can see Tanabata festival again. Thank you.

先月の7月7日に鶴岡公園の荘内神社で七夕祭りがありました。私は七夕あるいは星の催しは祭りの中でも最も有名な夏の催しごとの一つであることは知っていました。この祭りの歴史は一年に一度ベガとアルタイルが一年に一度会えるという星を渡る愛のロマンチックな物語に基づいています。この祭りの特殊な点は竹にカラフルな紙をかけて飾りつけをすることです。その紙はただの紙ではなく書いた人の希望や願い事が書かれていて、その紙のことを短冊と呼んでいます。そして書いた願い事は実現します。なので、これを読んでいる方も竹に願い事を書いた紙を掛けてみるとよいかもしれません。私が見た情報によると紙の色には違う意味があるようです。その祭りにいる人たちは神社の運が書かれたくじの紙であるおみくじをひいました。他にも、美しい紫陽花という花を見たり、神社でお祈りをすることを目的に来ている人もいました。その花の色は青とピンクのとても美しい色彩でした。願わくば、私はもう一度七夕祭りを見たいです。読んでくださりありがとうございます。
