Calopteryx atrata(Odonata)

7月の半ばからの一か月は高坂農場のハグロトンボの発生がピークでした。ハグロトンボは一番好きな蜻蛉目の昆虫です。漆黒の翅のひらひらと動かし、雄の個体がもつ緑色に光る非常に美しい金属光沢の腹部との組み合わせが魅力的な種です。

気温が高い日の午前は水路のそばで多くの個体が涼んでいるのを見る事ができます。飛んでまたすぐそばにとまってを繰り返し観察も比較的容易です。 こんな感じで調査の合間に水田に生息する対象生物以外の生き物を観察して息抜きをしています。

The month from the middle of July was a peak month for Calopteryx strata (One of the odonate commn spe

cies in Japan) at the Takasaka field. C.atrata are my favorite insects in the order of dragonflies. The combination of the jet-black fluttering of its wings and the beautiful　metallic-glossy abdomen of the male is an attractive species.

When hot morning, you can see many dragonflies cooling off near a waterway or canal. It is relatively easy to observe them by they are flying and perching near again. In between surveys, Like this, I take a break by observing and taking picture creatures living in the paddy field not only object animals in my research but also the others.
