今日は何の日か知っていますか。日本では防災の日です。なぜ今日なのでしょうか。

1923年の今日、午前12時頃に関東大震災が発生しました。日本の首都圏を襲った唯一の巨大地震です。『死者105,385、全潰全焼流出家屋293,387に上り、電気、水道、道路、鉄道等のライフラインにも甚大な被害が発生した』そうです（内閣府 2020現在）。発生時はお昼時だったため、火災も頻発したようです。ある研究者はこうした巨大地震の際には、火災にも注意を払うべきだといいます。こうした火災は風があると広がりやすくなります。関東大震災では、台風が近くに発達しており、被害が拡大しました。同じ歴史的な大地震、阪神・淡路大震災よりも多くの人が火事でお亡くなりになりました。

「首都直下地震」、今後発生すると予測されています。しかも、近い未来に。現在、コロナウイルスが（特に）東京で蔓延しています。もし、今日それが起こったとして、どれほどの損害を及ぼすか全く想像できません。しかも、夏は台風が多く、万が一同時に発生した場合は恐ろしいです。コロナウイルスですでに混乱している現在ですが、人々の生活はさらに混乱を極めます…とても怖いですね。

今回は少し暗いブログで失礼しました。でもだからこそ、“人と楽しく、1日1日を大切に生活しなければいけないな”と思います。もちろん、歴史を忘れず、将来にも備えます。

しかし、今日と明日を生きる方法について考えてください。

最後に、震災でお亡くなりになられた方々にご冥福をお祈りいたします。

Do you know what day today?

In Japan, it is Bousainohi (=Disaster prevention day).

Why today is? The reason why earthquake occurred in the Kanto region around 12 AM in 1st SEP in 1923. It is called Great Kanto Earthquake. The only huge earthquake that hit the metropolitan area in Japan. Estimated deaths were 105,385 and total burned down spilled houses 293,387 (Cabinet Office in Japan). It seems that a fire broke out because it occurred during lunchtime. Some people told we should pay attention to the fire like this disaster. Fire is easy to turn when there is wind. In Great Kanto Earthquake, typhoon exist near. It expand the damage then killed more people than in Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake by fire.

“Tokyo Metropolitan Earthquake”, many of us heard this word. It is predicted to occur in the future. And in the near future. Nowadays, corona virus spread especially in Tokyo. If it happened today, nobody know it cause how much damage to us. In summer, we have many typhoon. If happen same time, we cannot deal with it. People's lives will fall into confusion although we are in confusion just corona virus… It is very scary, isn’t it?

I am so sorry for sad blog today. But I think like that…

“We should take good care of every day. Keep working, enjoying with others.”

Of course, we do not forget the history, and prepare in the future.

But, but, but think about how to live today and tomorrow. Continue to this.
